Pass by my window sometime...
Poem by Nesrine Shalabi
Pass by my window sometime, perhaps you’ll glimpse intense summer skies darkening into deep ultramarine blue.
And when the thunder claps, the wet green glows in the paucity of light.
The tulips and narcissus stand blazingly poised against the
green in the garden.
What strange polarity to the dew in the attic of mind: there the air is dank, the images musty and oxidized.
Occasionally I pluck a stray happening of you brightening these Cimmerian hollows for a second or two.
Sometimes I wish these cerebral accidents desist, and my flailing memory be finally pronounced “deceased.”
