She has twice, been awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration for her visual and technical skills in building graphic user interfaces. She is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), a professional association committed to furthering excellence in design and maintaining high ethical and educational standards for the design profession. She is also a United Nations online volunteer (UNV), through which she provides illustrations and graphics to non-profit aid organizations. Sawsan Chalabi was born in Lebanon and raised in Accra, Ghana. She studied at Notre Dame University, in Lebanon, where she received her B.A. in Graphic Design in 2000. Her experience ranges in various aspects of the design field: developing logos and corporate identity, editorial design, packaging design, website and web application design and illustration.
